How the TI 4.3 Characters Would React to a Given Situation
Part I
Witnessing a Crime
The Situation: The character is walking down a street in a large city. As he passes an alley, he sees at the end of the dark passage a woman being raped and then murdered by several tough-looking men. What does he do?
Tech Infantry Trooper (retired) Miro Creed (Bax)
Miro wades in and kicks serious ass, saving the woman, but gets horribly wounded in the process (yet still gets to have sex with the woman, who is a gorgeous redhead). By the start of the next act, his wounds are all healed, the woman has been both kidnapped and possessed by the Caal, and Miro spends the next four acts trying to rescue her.
Earth Fleet Commodore Erich Von Shrakenberg (Martin)
Erich orders a kinetic interdiction strike from an orbiting dreadnought to destroy the entire city block. The attack thus stopped, he walks on, whistling innocently and feeling good about himself.
InSec Captain Andrea Treschi (Chris)
Treschi films the incident, then uses the footage to blackmail the murderers into working for him on covert missions. Then he has them kill Rashid King's mother and blame it on Arthur Clarke, just to get King more firmly on his side.
"Kiddo" Hex (Andy)
Early Version: Kills both the murderers AND the woman.
Later Version: Jumps in to rescue the woman, kills half the attackers with his amazing close-combat skills, but then runs out and escapes via a shuttlecraft because he suddenly remembers he has an appointment on another planet.
Tech Infantry Lt. Malachi Spyder (Josh)
Totally forgeting that he's a mind mage, Spyder runs in with guns blazing, but gets captured for no good reason, then released for even less reason. Then he consoles himself with the fact that he owns a major defense contractor, also for no good reason.
Tech Infantry Major Alastar Dimiye (Frank)
Dimiye runs in to save the woman, kicks serious ass, and kills the attackers. But the woman runs screaming from the alley and gets run over by a truck while crossing the street and dies anyway. Then Dimiye screams "Nooooooooo!" loudly and agonizes over his failure for the next four acts.
InSec Covert Operative Xavier Pollos (formerly LI Captain Mark Smith) (Matt)
Early Version: Pollos Jumps in to save the woman, pulls out his magic sword, screams "By the Power of Grayskull!", kills everyone within a three-block radius, and saves the woman.
Later Version: Pollos is so obsessed with thoughts of revenge against Rashid King that he doesn't even notice the woman's plight in the first place.
Earth Fleet Commander Xinjao O'Reilly (Ed)
Early Version: Xinjao is too busy reading his latest purchase from the Adult Bookstore down the block to notice the woman's plight in the first place.
Later Version: O'Reilly builds an amazing technological device to save the woman, but by the time he's finished, the woman is dead and the attackers have already left.
Free Citizen Justine Macoure (Lloyd)
Due to the fact that this player never sent in any orders, Justine IS the woman being raped and murdered.
